Reducing the harm caused by domestic abuse

Domestic abuse isn't just physical and there’s no excuse for it.  You’re not alone – we’re here to help you.

Women’s Aid Integrated Services (WAIS) is a free, confidential and independent service based in Nottingham and the region.  WAIS is run by women, for women and their children experiencing or escaping domestic abuse.

 

Our aims ...

  • to reduce the harm caused by domestic abuse
  • to strengthen families
  • to empower women and children
  • to raise awareness about domestic abuse and its effects on women and children

 

 

Our services ...

  • freephone 24 hour domestic violence helpline and a drop-in facility
  • refuge accommodation for women and their children
  • outreach and floating support scheme for women and children in their own homes
  • outreach support for children and young people in Gedling and Rushcliffe
  • support for the highest risk women experiencing domestic violence
  • building stronger families
  • pets project
  • domestic abuse awareness training
  • representation on various panels and inter-agency forums
